Good day at work
Today was the second good day I had at work this week!!
One of my co-workers came in my office and told me that she thought I did a really good job on my most recent publication and thought everything went so smooth!
The great thing is that I know and I am sure anyone paying attention knows that the problems of the past wasn't me. I was still part of the equation. The person missing from the equation made my life miserable anytime I had to do this particular publication, which really disappointed me because I thought it would be so fun to work on it. The fourth time was a charm and the person I got to work on it with was really good to work with!!
The co-worker who came in my office will never realize how much her words meant to me today!!
Thanks Tammy!!!
As always thanks for stopping by to check out the ramblings of a girl.

What's really going on?
Can someone please explain just what is going on?
First - the Pittsburgh Steelers don't make the playoffs as even a wild card. NO GOOD!! So I decided to look back at the playoffs since 2003. What I found was the Steelers apparently decide to set out the playoffs every three years - they must need a rest! That's right they let other teams go and stayed home in 2003, 2006, 2009 and this year!! Coincidence? I think not. They just like to give others a chance to catch up to their AWESOME history - I mean they are the only NFL team with a 6-pack of Super Bowl trophies!!
Second - Argo was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Music (Original Score). Also, Alan Arkin was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Argo, yet Ben Affleck wasn't nominated for Best Director or Best Actor for Argo - can we say SNUBsville!! Not Good!! He deserves both nominations, especially direction!!! It is a really good movie and he did a great job with it!!
And last but not least - have you heard about this? A company in Sweden is equipping coffins with sound systems. WHAT? From CBS.com "The Swedish hi-fi store Pause is selling a coffin with a state-of-the-art sound system built-in, dubbed the 'CataCoffin.' The strange invention is intended to promote the company's customized music solutions." I just have one question - Who exactly is listening?
As always thanks for stopping by and checking out the ramblings of a girl!

8 months?
Wow it's been a long time since I last blogged!!!
So here it is 2013, I am married, have a great job, and Ursula is doing well as an adult. Life has turned out much better than I imagined it would just 13 years ago.
My goal for this year is to officially put 13 years ago behind me. I am going to raise the money to obtain an attorney so I can get taken off the registry and put that horrible mistake out of my life.
I have tremendous support and know that once I am able to save the cash it will cost there will be nothing standing in my way of moving on. I have numerous people in the community who will stand by me and who have offered to write letters of support for me.
I have done so much with my life since that time and know that I am not only worthy but deserving of this being put behind me.
I am looking forward to the day I blog the news that it is the first day of the rest of my life.
As always thank you for listening to the ramblings of a girl.

I am enjoying my new job.
I have had my new position at the paper for 7 months now and I truly LOVE it!!!
I feel like it was made for me. I get to be creative, write , learn, and feel like what I am doing is important. The readers of Golden Times love it and the other sections I work on are read because people want to read them. They are feel-good sections, not obituaries. I love that I no longer deal with sad, angry people on a daily basis.
God has blessed me in such tremendous ways - I can't even believe it!!
As always thanks for stopping by and come again, I really will try to be more regular with my blogging.

The year's just keep getting better
2008 I watched my daughter Ursula receive her high school diploma.
2009 I graduated from college receiving my bachelor's degree and an AP award.
2010 I found my youngest daughter whom I had given up for adoption at birth and got married to an amazing man who happens to be my best friend in the whole world and the only person whom I have ever had complete and total trust in
2011 I wrote several stories for the paper and got a great promotion.
2012 It's only January 8 and in just the last week I received a call asking me to talk at a local group's monthly meeting about what I do at the Tribune and then yesterday a story I wrote a few months back about cell phone use was quoted by CNN and gave me credit and everything!! Professionally it's sort-of a big deal - personally it's a really big deal. I mean me the girl who dropped out of high school because she was pregnant, got her GED but didn't go any further until after spending 2 years in prison.
So many amazing things have happened in my life since 2006 and I truly believe it's because I made a promise to my dad on his death bed that I would make him proud - and with him as my personal angel kicking me in the but every time I even think of giving up there is no stopping what I can accomplish!!
Thanks for listening - Pegs :)

A new day
My life has taken some super cool turns in the last year and I am excited to share them with you all (???) if in fact anyone reads this blog any more.
I have decided that October is my favorite month of the year. I got married last October to a man that is better than I could have ever even created in my dreams. This year I got a promotion - I am no longer writing obituaries YAY!! I am now the coordinator of Target Publications, which is a small department at the Tribune that bridges the gap between news and advertising, it's sort of complicated. I coordinate, paginate and input much of the content is several special inserts throughout the year and a monthly magazine for the elderly called Golden Times. I even have my own office!!
I will really try to get better about posting more often, but in the mean time thanks for stopping by.
