4th of July

Ya know it's harder this year than any year before in my life to feel patriotic.

Now don't fly off the handle and get all up in arms about that statement, I LOVE AMERICA!!!

I just feel like after the last 8 years of the current administration and all the BS they have slung to an ever increasing ideology there is really no immediate hope for this country I love. Barak Obama, John McCain, Hilary Clinton, Heck I am not sure God himself could repair the damage of the Bush-Cheney duo in the foreseeable future. I feel like it will take at least 16 years to recover from the last 8...and possibly longer.

Another thing is I get so angry when I see just how uninformed the average American citizen is...me included. I am pissed that people complain about the current congress "not getting anything done" but say nothing about the fact that just about everything they have tried to do has been shot down without discussion by Bush.

I also find it difficult to celebrate something that really no longer exists...We are not an independent country...nor do I think we should be...things have changed and they are not going back...we now live in a global society...economics, politics, corporations, hell even our food all depends on what is happening in other countries. Also one of the things that we celebrate is the alleged FREEDOM that some still believe we have, sorry to be the barer of bad news the Patriot Act that the current administration and the last congress signed into law did away with most freedoms we think we have...constitutional freedoms given to us by our forefathers and taken from us by Bush and his cronies.

We also hear a lot about soldiers fighting to save democracy, truth be told, this country is not a true democracy and yes the soldiers are fighting and dieing but honestly, no one can say why!

Lastly, I find it hard to celebrate when the thing that Truly made this country GREAT is DEAD, yes DEAD...I am talking about the AMERICAN DREAM!!! The one that everyone hears about..."work hard, play by the rules and you will be able to give your family a nice life" This in today's economy is more of a fairy tale...the working class, family loving, play by the rules American lost his house, job, and dream, or is in the process of losing it!

Today is a day like any other but with fireworks...money well spent when the American family can't afford to put gas in their car to get to work!
