The world we live in is full of hypocrisies and we must learn to live in it but there are at least three hypocrisies that I just don't understand and I am not sure I ever will or even want to.
1. Those individuals against gay marriage - I get that some people are morally opposed to homosexuality but really how does what two grown adults do in their own lives effect what happens in your home? Yes, yes I get that the staunch religious sect of our society believe it is a sin against God - but really isn't that for God to decide and doesn't that make it an issue between the individual and God. Plus it really bugs me when people, especially politicians, complain that gay marriage would ruin the sanctity of marriage - I scoff at this statement, and here is where the hypocrisy lies - Isn't cheating on your spouse or abusing them in any manner really the ruination of the sanctity of marriage? Last time I checked heterosexuals were doing a fine job all on their own of destroying the sanctity of marriage. And politicians on both sides of the aisle are doing it publicly!
2. Those individuals complaining about the national deficit - these are the same people who for the last 8 years supported the president who grew the government at an astronomical rate, one not seen in history by any other president. An administration that took us in to a war with a country who, for no other reason than personal grudges, were attacked and blamed for atrocities committed by citizens of a country that Bush and his cronies had preference to. A president who doled out billions of dollars to financial institutions with proven incapability's of handling money without any oversight as to how that money was spent. Yes but no one is talking about that instead they concentrate on the money handed out since the new administration has taken office - the money that had several strings attached and yes we bitch about the strings as much as we do the money, because for goodness sake we don't want the government looking out for the investment of tax dollars by stipulating restraints in how the businesses receiving the money spends it - I mean that is a "Communist idea" right - oh wait let me look up communism in the dictionary, which is something that just about every person attending "TEA PARTIES" should do - defined as: The Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine that advocates the overthrow of capitalism by the revolution of the proletariat. Now I am not a genius but last time I checked this was all being done to save capitalism so that the greed of our nation can continue - not to take down the system and remake it, which in my opinion is what really needs to be done! The hypocrisy lies in the blaming of one man because of his political affiliation over another, the fact is that all politicians and the entire political system failed a very long time ago but the people are to blame because we stopped caring - that is unless our party isn't in control, then we care a whole bunch! UGH!!!
3. Pro-lifers - Anti-abortionist, who find nothing wrong with killing a doctor who performs abortions. Again I get that morals and religious beliefs drive a lot of this argument but - and I know that I am repeating myself, how is a woman's choice to have an abortion the fault of the doctor providing a service that if not available would not stop the act? Have we forgotten all the hanger abortions of the time prior to roe v. wade? If a woman has made the decision to rid herself of a pregnancy it not being legal or provided safely is not going to stop it from happening - this decision is between the woman and God. One must walk only 10 steps in another's shoes to see why we may make the choices we do. But the real hypocrisy lies in taking the life of a full grown man or woman because of their job in order to save the life of a fetus - one life is no more important or valued than another in the eyes of God.
